Lymington is a friendly, interesting town with its life centred on the river. The two marinas are within a mile and there are always yachts to watch on the Town Quay. A market fills the High Street on Saturdays and there is plenty to interest the antique collector. If you do not wish to dine at Chequers Green you will find a variety of restaurants in the town and there is always the Chequers Inn (Good Pub Guide) within walking distance.

The New Forest where wild ponies roam is a fascinating place to explore, full of wildlife and beautiful walks. It is within easy reach of the historic cities of Winchester, Salisbury and Southampton; spectacular historic houses - Broadlands and Beaulieu with its amazing motor museum; Portsmouth, Stonehenge and Bucklers Hard are steeped in history. There's also the amazing Lymington market every Saturday which is exciting wet or dry, Christchurch and Poole on the Coast for enjoying a hot summer . . . Ferries sail from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight throughout the day and it is fun to take your car and explore the Island.
